Not only are books on the arts of Madagascar very rare, this example is an excellent version of a book in this genre. It has large format, colour photographs and ample text (in French). It is based on an exhibition at the Musée du quai Branly – Jacques Chirac in Paris – which arguably is the world’s leading museum solely devoted to ‘tribal’ arts and world cultures.
